“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’” Being filled with and baptized by the Holy Spirit is something Jesus wants for all of us. Before Jesus died, he left us with the gift of the Holy Spirit for us all to invite in. Receiving the Holy Spirit is only the first step, we must then live in accordance and receive guidance from the Holy Spirit and as children of God, not live in the way of the world (the way of sin). Receiving the Holy Spirit is receiving the spirit of God, giving us the thoughts and direction from God that allows us to hear his voice!
